What this covers
This policy explains how Animal Rescue Cooperative (ARC) handles personal information collected through this website and its connected support services.
Information we collect
We collect the information you choose to provide when you submit a support request, offer goods, share feedback or ask about leaving a gift in your Will. Depending on the form, this can include your name, contact details, organisation, location, the animals or support involved, your message and any images you choose to upload.
When you donate, Donorbox collects the payment and donor information needed to process the donation, provide a receipt and manage recurring gifts. ARC does not receive or store card details through this website.
How we use it
We use information to respond to you, coordinate practical help, assess and arrange support, acknowledge donations, improve ARC’s services, and meet our operational and legal responsibilities.
Who we share it with
Information is available only to ARC people and service providers who need it for these purposes. This can include the ARC teams working on your request, the systems used to deliver ARC forms and records, and Donorbox for donations. We do not publish the private contact details, addresses or messages submitted through this website.
Some service providers may process information outside Australia as part of providing secure online services to ARC.
Public hub pages and photographs
Hub pages use public ARC Hub information and approved public images. They are not a way to look up private rescuer, donor or supporter information.
Keeping information safe
ARC uses access controls and service providers appropriate to the information being handled. We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for ARC’s work, legal responsibilities or a legitimate operational record.
Access, correction and concerns
You can ask to access or correct your personal information, or make a privacy complaint, through ARC’s private feedback form. Please choose Privacy request as the topic and include enough detail for ARC to find the right record.
ARC will review your request and respond through the contact details you provide. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
