This week we collected and delivered donations to 38 rescue groups and community programs around the country, all made possible by volunteers and generous donors. These everyday people and local groups pitched in with items that help keep rescues and animals going, often providing a vital lifeline for care and shelter. The effort shows how community support can make a real difference to animals in need.
Donations sent out through our hubs included wet and dry food for dogs, cats and kittens, specialty diets, puppy milk, dental chews, litter, puppy pads and bird seed. Medical supplies and treatments were also provided, such as parasite treatments, wormers, heartworm prevention, desex vouchers, medical fluids and wildlife first-aid items like pouches, syringes and bandaging. Many parcels were earmarked to support community outreach programs and pantries that help pet owners who are experiencing hardship.
The distribution was handled by ARC Leichhardt Hub, ARC QLD Brisbane Hub and ARC SA Adelaide Hub, with coordination across the national ARC network and partners in Tasmania. Petbarn Foundation worked with ARC to support this activity, and the team is very grateful for the ongoing backing; they encourage people to donate or share the message to help keep food, medicine and rescue services funded.
